Hieroglyphics

Just like our own alphabets the Ancient Egyptians had their own hieroglyphics. However they had up to 700 letters in the alphabet. Hieroglyphics were mainly for religious uses and only the scribes and the priests could use them. They were often written on papyrus or wood. Years ago no one was able to understand hieroglyphics, yet a great discovery of the Rosetta Stone allowed us to understand ancient hieroglyphics.
